after a long night of drinking, we slept, and left very late, said goodbye to Mr. George, the Oceanis, and Sougia. I had planned the beach excursion specifically for C&H, because there is not a lot of downtime on this trip, and knew they would want to have some beach time. The both said it was marvelous, so we packed up and headed out. As before, the roads were terrible, as we first drove up into the mountains and back down headed towards the most famous beach on the island, Elafonissi, the beach with the pink sand. As we got behind slow car after slow car, I could tell it was going to be crowded, so I warned the Gof4, we shouldnt stay too long, there was a long way to go today. We drove in and found a spot and then walked across the beach to the small island on the other side, saw some boobies, and then walked back to the car. yea Pink Sand. yea Boobies! We had a little snack before heading north towards Chania.
This road was much better maintained as this was the one the buses came on, but there was that one creepy one lane tunnel. We came out at Kissamos and headed West towards beach #2 of the day, Falasarna. We stopped at Spilios for lunch, which is where we ate the last time we were here. I think the same kid waited on us too. We stared out over the beach, from a spectacular view, and watched a guy on a motorized parasail zip around the sky.
After lunch we got on the road and headed East, towards Chania, and before you know it, we were checking in to the Porto Veneziano, on the Venetian port. Everyone went to bed for a nap while I went out exploring. After a few hours I came back and grabbed everyone and took them all to Tamam for a fantastic dinner. Afterwards we walked around, and I discovered the kitten boat, which is just about the greatest thing of all time.
