Day 9 - Clean Underwear!

We got up and soaked in the last few moments of Chania before packing up and heading east.  Chania, if you couldn't tell, is easily our favorite place on the island and where we want to live when we move to the island.  The food, the people, the magic, it is all right here.

The road east was a fine fine drive, with hardly any issues, and before we knew it, we were in the capital city of Heraklion, the site of "Boat Strike 2k17.  We got to town later than planned, so went straight to the hotel, to check in, drop off our laundry at the place next to the Marin Dream, and then I drove everyone out to the most famous site on the island, the minoan palace at Knossos.  As anticipated, it was packed with people and there was nowhere to park, so i let everyone out while i drove around looking for a place.  I finally found one and made it inside, still not MY favorite place, but whatever, checkmark, Knossos.  BTW, I challenged myself to take as many photos without getting any people in them, see how I did.

I got everyone back in the car and headed back to the Marin Dream, and miracles of miracles, there was a parking spot right in front, which i quickly nabbed, and then sent C&H off to explore on their own, while JW and I went looking for lunch, and a hat for our friend Alejandro from Los Tules.

After a bit of wandering we returned to pick up the laundry, take a little nap and then headed out to Kastella for dinner.  Kostas greeted us with open arms and welcomed our friends C&H as family.  the food was amazing and the brotherhood we have with this man was on full display.  He even introduced us to his daughter.  At the end we hugged and took pictures and said goodbye until 2021, and went straight back to the hotel and to bed.
