Gamisou Karioli

Today was fine

Let’s dig in shall we.

I had the shivers thing again last night, I have no idea who that happened, but we all rolled out of bed about 8:30.  As my mom reminded me, Sunday was still mother’s day.

We took a detaour to a coffee shop that’s been getting national attention, and the gal there fucked up our order and coffee was just ok.  I’m not going to embarrass them here.

We hiked back to hotel where the day crew was on the guard. We had our first breakfast at the hotel, and it was marvelous.  We then grabbed our shit and headed out of town.

The road to out of town is often confusining, because there are many roads out of town.  We took a route and eventually stopped to get gas, we had half a tank, and yet the drive to Sougia and back, who knows.

We got on the highway and jockeyed across many slow drivers, the drivers were slow and we passed them. And at one point JW said why are you driving so fast and I said this is Crete, we pass everyone.

We got to a roundabout and headed south into the mountains.  I had turned off GPS because I thought this would be a straight shot.  We arrived in Argylopois and it was just a boring town.  I knew there were tavernas with waterfalls so I knew we were in the wrong place.

I flipped around and followed the signs for Argylouois springs and boom, we were instantly there.  Because it was now about 2 we decided to partake which included Greek salad and I kid you not a trout that they pulled out of a pond a few feet from us.  Freshest fish ever, and fucking delicious.

At this point we FaceTimed my mothers to tell her happy Mother’s Day.  It was 6 am in USA.

After lunch we headed towards ancient Lato, which according to GPS is the entire region that we’re in. So with a few turn around we saw a sign for Lappa Cemetary and parked and headed down.

This was a great test of my knees which I must say, rocked like Jesus, and when we got to the bottom of the hill, there were tombs of cretans everywhere.

We got back to Chania, I love the drive, and went back out on our quest, which I mentioned before.  There were a couple odd ones, we went out to the lighthouse found one, and then a second one by the light house.  The third one proved to be an adventurer, the clue was the end to he trail, and there are many trails in Crete.  Eventually we wound up on the right location and then dug around a bunch of trees before we finally found it, the last tee and we won the challenge.

Alter  cleaning up a bit we had dinner at one of the finest Chrisostomoas.

After dinner we went to the hotel and hung with Leftarious and the boys.  A couple from Ohio came in and tried to help them, but their itenerary was fucked up.  We did shots and says goodbye.

It’s time to sleep, good night.
