day 11, and finally a boat

bitter sweet finally leaving Crete, our love, our future home, and finally a hotel that had a shower you could move around in, and a bed that wasn't hard as a goddamn rock.  man.  that olive green hotel was pretty snazzy, but really, we either wanted to go back to chania or get the hell out of heraklion.  so we marched down to the docks, and there was our boat, and on it we got, with a brief stop at Ios, we were on Paros, another island, with another type of life, and it was very very pretty.  we found our hotel down on the beach, and then spent a few hours driving around the island.  very small, maybe an hour to drive around the entire thing?  hour 15?  maybe.  we stopped off at lovely Ana's Cafe, it was marvelous, and she was very good to us, then up onto the only really big hill on the island to the town of Lefkes, which was neat, but not really neat, and then back to the hotel, where there was napping and finally on to Naousa, the town our hotel, it was a short walk into town, there was of course a little boat harbor, a little castley thing, and a bunch of restaurants, most of which were the most expensive we had seen since we'd been in Greece.  we decided on a light dinner since lunch was a mere 3 hours before and had a lovely dinner, though the service was pretty MEH!  walked back to town and that was that.  Paros we decided was about 95% ruralness and beaches and 5% douche pretentiousness, which we definitely didn't see any of the places we went on Crete, mostly because we avoided those places.   our 1/2 day on Paros was over and in the morning we'll hop on the 6 hour boat to Sifnos.
