day 9 trapped in paradise

so there was a general strike on wednesday effecting boats, planes, taxis, etc, that was extended to thursday, we were told it would not effect Crete, but apparently it did.  we drug all of our stuff down to the boat this morning only to be told that the boats were not running.  then we drug all our stuff back up to the Marin Dream and luckily they had a room for us.  today we have been wandering around Heraklion and drinking coffee.  I have begun my transition from soda to coffee, and the cappuccino's with a little sugar are delicious.  love it.  we'll see how that goes.  the other adventure we had today was finding a store that sold bubble wrap.  we had many people telling us many different things, and we finally found it just as they were closing down.  success!  we also went back to the Crete Museum, which is pretty sweet, but since we'd already been there, it was nothing new.  we're now hoping the ferries run tomorrow and if not we may not have a room :(  i have also figured out how to get pictures uploaded, so i'm working on that currently.  if you check back tomorrow, i should have them all in their proper places on the blog and you can go back to all of my entries and see the pictures that go with the stories.  we're going to chill here the rest of the day, i'll let you know later if anything exciting happens.
