after the catacombs, we got a little lost driving in circles around the town, trying to get somewhere else, which we never really made it to, so we drove on. the car rental place told us to stay on paved roads, of which there are only a few, so we were stuck. We took the paved road out to Pollonia, which was very cute, and then turned right around to come back the way we went. I noticed that lunch was supposed to be at the town of Mandrakia, so we stopped off there, and it was very pretty.
After Marakia we headed south west and made it over to the beach of Kipos. From Kipos we headed further west until we reached the end of the road at the monastery of Hagia Sophia.
It seemed that we had seen the entire island that we could see from land and headed back to the hotel, where the lady at the desk asked if we had been to Sarakiniko, at which we said no, because apparently we'd by-passed that road completely, so back into car we went, and my lord, it was absolutely beautiful.
We were so glad we saw it, but the fading light was not great for pictures, our boat the next day wasn't leaving until 10, so we made plans to visit it again in the morning, and went to eat dinner at the absolutely amazing O'Hamos.
