day 13 - searching for the Sifnos Monster

woke up and got a quick bite to eat, got our rental car and started the trek around the island.  Sifnos is very small, you can probably drive around the whole thing in a couple hours without stopping.  we basically opened the map and said, lets go to every town on the map.  which we did.  first stop was the northern most town, heronissos, which was basically a small beach and a few houses.  we also snapped a shot of the northern most point of the island, in the distance you could see the island of Serifos.

Next up, going around the island in clockwise motion, we went to Kastro, which is a pretty little town with no beach to speak of, just a castly thing, and a cool church out on the rocks.

We then went all the way to the south and to the beach of Platis Gialos, then on to Faros Beach, and the monastery of Chrisopigi, which was very cool.

Finally Vathi, where we ate lunch and then took a bewildered greek lady and taking her home to Apollonia.

We had plenty of time left in the day, so we took the crazy crazy road up to the top of a small mountain to see the view of Kamres from the church of Agios Symeon.  The road was nuts, but the views were incredible.

Finally we made it back down to the bottom and had a lovely dinner and went out to the breakwater to watch a boat come in and the sunset on our last night on the island.
