Day 14 - Delphi Dog

Early morning, C & I went to get the girls coffee.  We walked down the street to a little coffee shop, and while in line, a man was standing there with this very cool hat, all the writing was in greek letters, and i could tell one of the words was Delphi.  I said to him "hey man cool hat, where did you get that?"  The man motioned to his head, and I said yes, your hat, I want one like that.  He pointed to my hat, took his hat off and held it out for me.  At that moment, I realized he couldn't speak, and another man standing next to him said, He wants to swap hats with you.  I just couldn't pass it up, so the P hat was given to him for this!

I was thinking he must work for the city, because he was in a sort of uniform/outfit, I think the second word is Delphi, not sure what the rest of it says, but we'll find out.  I'm pretty sure that you can't buy this thing at a tourist shop.

We went back to get the girls, hopped in the car and drove the short distance the magical site of Delphi.  We were first ones there, before the gates even opened, so we had the whole place to ourselves.  It truly is a magical magical place.

After wondering around, and seeing all the sites, someone made the call to stay for the museum, which didn't open until 10, which was going to put us behind schedule, but big deal.  I told everyone 30 minutes, and we rushed through to see as much of it as we could.  As we were leaving, I spotted a trashcan bearing the words that were on my hat.  Surely it must mean City of Delphi?  C made a great story about how the guy waits in the coffee shop all day, swapping hats with strangers, and takes the hats home to his hat museum.  who knows.

Afterwards we hopped in the car and sped down the road towards our next destination, Olympia.  We made pretty good time, and I stayed behind while everyone went in, so I have zero pictures, but I feel like I saw enough of it back in 2013, so meh.  After they came out, we decided to go into the Olympic Museum, which was filled with the history of the Olympic Games, which was super cool.

Everyone came out and we drove to go get lunch in a little town nearby.  After lunch we sped down the road again for the cute town of Pylos, which JW and I had visited in 2013, but did not explore.  It was a cozy town with a very cute waterfront, and a lot of history.  C & I went hiking around an old castle, but we could not find our way inside.  We went back to the hotel and grabbed there girls and went down to the waterfront for a very less than enthusiastic dinner.  After dinner, we went to bed.

today is my sister Melissa's Birthday!  Happy Birthday!
