rethymnon part 2

woke up in rethymnon and went up to the roof to check out the town.  due to crappy connecting flight delays we didn't get to do much in this town.

after breakfast we checked out of the hotel and drove over to the venetian castle and looked around.

after that we hopped on the road and headed towards Chania.  On the way we stopped off at ancient Aptera, which is an amazing site up on the hill overlooking the bay below.  The highlight of the site were the ancient roman cisterns, that were HUGE and you could actually walk around inside them.

After the site we had a lovely lunch at a village cafe, where we had some delicious rabbit, and strong wine.  while we were eating some sheep ran by.  that was neat too.

after Aptera, we finally drove to Chania where we will be for the next 2 days.
