to the castle, to the moon!

so we got up and walked to the castle of leros. we missed the shortcut pathand wound up walking up the long road that lead up the ither side.  the views were amazing.  once we got to the top we had such an amazing view of the island.  we found theshort cut oath back down and started having Samaria Gorge flashbacks, lots of stairs down.

we got back to the hotel alimda and packed up, had a delightful lunch and thenhooed in the taxi for the ride to the airport, butnot before stopping off at this cute little church that had been built on a rock in the water.  they had built a little path to it with the waves crashing around.  itwas very cool.

we got in the smallest plane ever, 9 rows, and flew t0 athens.  once we got there the skies were cloudy and it was raining.  we took a taxi to the Gotel Attalos.  it was still raining when we headed up to the rooftop bar for drinks.  Uli our travel agent from Dolphin Hellas showed up and we had a great chat with her, and then Matt Barrett and his wife Andrea showed up and we chatted some more.  Then Matt offered to show us to his favorite place, cafe evi, and had some ouzo and sardines.  they left and we tried to walk back to to hotel, but i took a left instead of a right and we got super lost.  at one point i thought Julia was going to cry, but we found our way back and went to bed.
