Knossos taverna

In Greece they eat dinner at nine.  Since we were going on26 hours of sleep we couldn't wait.  So off to the Knossos taverna( after walking past it by half a mile) and our first real meal in crete and Greece.  We shred plates of stuffed grape leaves, grilled sardines, fava, mixed veggies, sautéed mushrooms, and dakos, which is dried barley bread with olive oil, feta and tomatoes.  We also had the house red ( made I house) and a small bottle of retsina.  So Good and we ate the whole damn thing and had room for desert, baklava with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.  Ugh.  Delicious.  Then we walked around the bottomless lake and came home to wash away the stink of the day.  Tomorrow is the big hike so off to bed we go.  See you tomorrow.
